Guji is a remote, heavily forested region in the southeastern corner of Oromia, where the Oromo people have fought to preserve the land’s rich canopy, pushing back against mining and deforestation. But the same rugged terrain that makes this place special also makes it difficult for farmers to get their coffee to market. That’s where the Shakiso washing station comes in. Here, 137 small-scale farmers, each tending an average of 2 hectares, bring their ripest cherries to be processed with care.

The result? A cup that speaks to their dedication—complex, clean, and absolutely unforgettable.
