We’re proud to showcase the work of Dona Francisca and Oscar Chacon, third-generation coffee producers from the foothills of Costa Rica’s Poas volcano. The Chacons own Las Lajas micro mill and have been producing specialty coffee with a focus on honey-processed beans. Their family farm has been around since 1948, and today, Francisca and Oscar are known for their dedication to producing high-quality, fruit-forward coffee from the Cumbres del Poas region.
What sets Las Lajas apart is their commitment to sustainability and innovation. By carefully monitoring the cherries’ sweetness, they ensure the best flavor in every harvest. Their water use is minimal, avoiding the washed process to protect the environment. At Muletown, we admire their passion and commitment to quality, which they’re passing down to their children, the future of their family’s coffee legacy.
